embrace your ‘you’

we get to a point where we are who we are.  not that we can’t do better or be better but our true selves have emerged.  we know our strengths and our not so strong parts. this is the essence of us.  whether it be little or big things.

i like to talk. i wish sometimes i chatted less but this is who i am.  i know i can’t watch movies with violence (i will pass out no matter how benign), i  am not so great at  receiving criticism (i am working on it but it is not my favourite thing), i like to share my knowledge with others, i am outdoorsy and athletic and competitive but i am not hardcore. these are little bits of me that are my essence.

so it is a new year full of promise and wide open spaces.

if you decide to make resolutions, resolve to embrace yourself, be kind and pick goals that work within the layers of you. perhaps re-sculpt yourself instead or remaking yourself. find your best parts and make them better. take leaps of faith, strive for newer experiences, and dip your toes in unchartered territory.

write down your goals and check in.

i am working on my resolutions…i’m working on the shape of things to come. stay tuned.

good luck.

About ithinkinwords

i love common sense and innovation. the trails, mountains and oceans are magic. i run a little, have recently taken up mountain biking and find bliss in yoga. getting outside everyday and moving is a must! sometimes when i am driving i look into the rearview and think how did i get here? -- last time i looked i was 17 and crossing my fingers my VW had enough gas. well it got me here.
